The Unimo Co., Ltd. Wuxi representative office has now moved to a new location, has more office space and plans to establish a production base in the near future. The expansion of Unimog is the inevitable result of success in the Chinese market. Two years after the establishment of the original office in Wuxi, the existing 10 employees have become overcrowded (three of them joined last year). Just five months after the new financial year this year, China’s sales exceeded the previous year, fully demonstrating the company’s good growth momentum. Unimog's initial goal in China was to focus on shifting production lines to European and American companies in the Chinese market, and now also focus on joint ventures and local companies.
“We look forward to continued rapid growth in China, so our location will be adapted to future expansions,†said Per Thy Sørensen, Director of Development at Unimog Group. “The Chinese market is mixed, including all traditional production. Businesses to modern production facilities are completely equivalent to companies in the European and American markets, so there is also a market with great potential for our tools."
Based on the Beijing office and Wuxi's new office, Unimog is committed to serving China's automotive, hydraulic, generator and metal processing industries. The new office location also means that Unimog will be ready to provide tool maintenance services as a pioneer in production in China. Production facilities are expected to start next year.
Su Sheng said, “It is undeniable that our complicated storage and transportation operations have made us position to serve the Chinese market from Denmark, but we want to establish localized services in the Chinese market.â€
The company has just hired two employees to set up a new design department to provide customers with faster and wider service, and also strengthen our development in China. Last year, Unimog hired three sales engineers in China. This year we will continue to expand the sales engineer, tool optimization experts and other internal staff to provide the most convenient service for the growing Chinese customers. All new employees were sent to the company's Danish headquarters for a three-month technical training.
Unimog's growing business activities in China are the result of our successful industrial solutions in automotive, hydraulics, generators and metal additions. This is based solely on Unimog's development strategy to establish sales and service organizations that are geographically more beneficial to our customers.
Unimog's plans for the future in the Chinese market include the addition of five regional sales offices to five in the next five years. The planned third office is likely to be located in Chongqing in the Midwest, which is also one of the fastest growing industrial cities in the country.
