The person in charge said that in order to implement the "Opinions on Further Strengthening Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction and Accelerating Structural Adjustment of the Iron and Steel Industry" issued by the General Office of the State Council on the 4th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is actively implementing relevant work and drafting a work plan for implementation.

At present, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is organizing various plans for the merger and reorganization of iron and steel enterprises, formulating and standardizing the examination and approval methods, and will formulate specific examination and approval measures for mergers and acquisitions of steel enterprises with relevant departments, so that the examination and approval work can be carried out in an orderly manner. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will arrange local governments to formulate the merger and reorganization plan for steel enterprises in 2010-2011, and organize the approval and implementation of the mature projects.
